What can I say other than WOW!!!!! I have shared today with over 200 amazing people at the Dementia Carers Conference 2011 at the Stamford Grand, Glenelg. Almost everyone there is caring for people like me who are diagnosed with dementia. This group of men and women are being supported by Alzheimer’s Australia South Australia, who through funding were able to convene such a wonderful day. The key-note speakers were none other than the amazing and Extraordinary Robyn Moore (The Power of the Word – Blinky Bill voice), the incredible Dr Sally Cockburn (Dr Feelgood) and Max Walker (Tangles), the writer, commentator, footballer, cricketer, overall Mr amazing nice guy. They shared their hearts and souls with us, and inspired us to Learn, Love and Live. We had our emotional tanks topped up, learnt how to fast stream CRAP attacks, considered our sex lives, worked on the power of our own words, integrity and authenticity, and generally had a really great time. Loads of laughter, tears, and finally some dancing as we considered the power of our own voices! Thank you.
