I’m in the process of setting up a blog roll of other blogs and websites that are interesting and useful, and am constantly coming across new posts or blogs I want to read, and then share. Today is one of those days as I want to share two (well, really a few) posts (the first from a blog that is no longer active), which leads you to the second, and the third from MySimple.C, the fourth from… you get the drift!!
http://dementiadialogues.wordpress.com/2011/06/05/punding/ is about a symptom called Punding associated with the dementia with Parkinson’s disease http://www.epda.eu.com/research-papers/2011/journal-of-neurology/2011-04-01-jneurol/ which I had never heard of, but had definitely seen happening with residents.
http://mysimplec.com/2012/05/21/reframing-dementia-early/ is about dementia being reframed as a terminal illness, which it is, and as always this blogger offers new insights and information for the dementia community. This post leads you to this article in Time Health, http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1930278,00.html
I also wrote about dementia as a terminal illness here http://kateswaffer.com/2012/04/30/facing-terminal-illness/ and as I am talking a little about this over the next few days, decided to add the link to it today.
So you see, if you work, you’ll almost never have the time to read all this stuff, and if you have dementia you’ll probably never remember it even if you have time to read it, and if you do have time to read it all, I want to know where you found it!!
Ps. I usually dislike reading other blogs or stories that mostly just lead me to others websites, but today this is it; my efforts to write have been thwarted by time or brain kill. Or maybe I’m just feeling chilled and enjoying the view too much from my window up on the 6th floor of my hotel in Wellington??
