What if I can’t paddle anymore?

Holding onIt is another day of wondering, ‘What the hell is happening to my brain?’ I’m unsure if the changing symptoms of dementia that seem to be taking place can be averted, or if finding new strategies is going to rev my brain back into action. I’m finding the paddling is not working so well, and in fact many days just lately I can’t seem to paddle at all.

This quote I found in a book is it for today;

“When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on”

Ps to my dear husband and children… sorry to be so brutally honest here today. I know reading about what you are seeing makes can it harder to cope with, but it seems important to document the reality of our journey. I am holding on! xox

  1. Kate, take a note from your last post, what do you do? Fly.

    You have a lot of people out there who have you utmost in your thoughts. Just remember, we all experience those times when the odds seem insurmountable and like we’re paddling away but barely breaking the surface, but we all make it through in the end.

    Little quote my now fiancée is always telling me when I get a bit down with things that usually gets me out of a rut, “the day is always darkest just before dawn”.

    Stick in there mate and keep writting!

  2. Your many many friends are here to help you paddle when you are bone weary and fearful, and on good days too. Dear friend please ask for whatever support we can provide because you are precious to so many people and I think we realize that sometimes your DH and sons become too sad to cope with the reality of what is happening to you.
