What to do…

and how to do it? These are the questions I ask myself many moments of most days. The dementia has definitely made life more complex, but has also unlocked new doors and interesting pathways, and found new mountains to climb and explore, albeit with more difficulty than before. My world has seemingly disappeared AND expanded, at the same time. I often ask myself, how can that be? Is it because of the way I choose to deal with the cards I’ve been dealt, or just the luck of the draw? Does this even matter? Apart from my family and close friends, who really cares? Well, through blogging, I have discovered the world is full of people who care, not just about themselves, but about others, and this fact has warmed the cockles of my heart. Listening to the news, which usually focuses on humanity’s treachery, wars, the lashings of our environment or some other sad or confronting atrocity, can turn my brain to mush, and my soul to tears as this woeful focus tries to steal my positivity. WordPress and blogging refills my tank, helps me believe in the goodness of humanity again. Today I met with one of my specialists, and for a change, had none of my family with me to help out. I sat in the waiting room making a few notes, hoping I’d remember the things I needed to share with him. I was placed on a new drug recently for neuropathic pain, and when asked if I was experiencing any side effects – a question that was so left field, at least for my brain because it was not on my list – all I could say was I can’t remember!!! We both laughed raucously! So what to do, and how to do it I asked myself again… as long as we keep on laughing, the answer is always there.
