Today my blog is a lazy one. It is the final countdown, and I am behind schedule. The NaNoWriMo pep talks and feedback suggest every single other person working on this goal is in the same boat. It encourages me to keep going, and if I don’t make it this year, then I can have another go next April. It won’t mean I have failed, it will mean I have had a great time writing about dementia and my life, and will have a healthy start towards my novel. It will not mean I won’t ever complete the task, just not in time for this NaNoWriMo challenge. My family and friends will still love me, the world won’t end, and my husband will still be able to find that perfect cup of coffee that he so desperately needs each day! It is 7.30am and I still have 6,086 words to go, plus a few other things that need doing today other than write. I’ve got my guardian angel Sophia sitting on my shoulder spurring me on, and many more hours to go. Today is my final Hey ho, let’s go, not now or never!

‘Come on’ the end is in sight!
Marathon runners don’t give up 1km from the end, they drag themselves to the line. And next year they do a better job!
You know you can do this!!!!
“Come on Kate, Come on, Come on. Come on Kate, Come on”!!!

You can do it Kate and if you don’t quite make it you have done fantastically simply by taking it on in the first place!

6000 words is definitely do-able. Go, go, go, rah, rah, rah! 🙂 Whatever you get done, yay, you. It is one heck of a process to even dive in to this kind of project, and as far as I’m concerned the day in and day out is what makes us all winners. One word at a time! 😉

Thanks for the encouragement Amy. I’ve just had a quick look at one of your links, and see you’re doing the NaNoWriMo challenge too. Hope you’re having as much fun with it as I am 🙂 Take care and keep writing 🙂
