Day 21: Dementia Awareness Month 2014

Glenda Parkin, WA

Glenda Parking lives well with dementia, with the support and love of her husband Bronte, family and friends in Perth, Western Australia. She is an inspiration to me, and has been since I first heard her speak out at a forum following the Fight Dementia campaign rally in Canberra in 2011.

Glenda has been involved nationally and in her own state on a number of consumer committees, and is an inaugural member of the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Advisory Committee, and very involved in the activities of Dementia Awareness Month 2014 in Western Australia. I am also very proud to call them both my friends.
