Don’t ever quit!

Image via LinkedInI found this quote and image on LinkedIn, although I don’t know who to attribute it to. If it was you, please let me know so I can make sure your name is attached to the quote! I realise it is on a coffee cup, but that in itself does not make it a free for all, without acknowledging who the quote came from. So, even if you are not a professional, or have not been trained in something, if you believe in it, want to give it a go, and feel passionate that it is the right thing for you to be doing, and especially if you also believe it will make a difference to you, or to the lives of others, then do not ever quit, and don’t be afraid to give it a go.

A quote I regularly read which it is up in my office on the book shelf is this one, equally important and meaningful to me, and that I have posted on my blog before is the one below, and this is link takes you to one I have written myself about not quitting.

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

  1. Thank you so much for this, so helpful and really badly needed especially at this time!
    I am not a poet, or anything; just love reading and writing these things:)
    Writing more in Arabic, but I humbly wrote one in English (Painful realities: Honest conversation with my life!). It is just my view of this stage of my life, however, it sheds light on some realities about life in general. Others might totally disagree and everyone’s opinion is respected. Hope you enjoy reading it if you want.

    Don’t ever quit!
    Wish you all the best.

  3. It wasn’t me my friend, but I think it just wonderful.
    I am on instagram professionally and my quotes are presently going up daily – @uplifting_dementia
    Can you let me know your link so I can add you – I did try to find you when I started it up.
    Cheers and smiles always.

  4. Your disagreeing to disagree Carol Cronkie-head. 🙂 We all have Loved one’s that keep us “not quitting”?BUT with my brain losing capacity issues. “NOT dementia yet” thankfully. My faith hangs in there even though it’s mostly weakened by enduring the daily struggles.:) with Cervical Dystonia caused due to the areas deep within my brain cell death-ed, The pain and uncontrollable movements disorder makes life all most unbearable at times. BUT our lives are important to those who love us. So LOVE is our powerful non quitting weapon. So today I agree with your poem/blog “how’s that’? 🙂 Carol 🙂
