The big elephant in the room

This elephant represents people with dementia, locked in segregated wards (jail)

Over the years, I’ve presented at events themed, ‘the elephants in the room’, and even wrote a chapter in a book published last year on this theme.

It is titled, About Us Without All of Us: The Elephants in the Room.

Todays blog is about a very big elephant in the room, which he goes beyond the fact almost no one wants to live in an institution, let alone be segregated in one based on a particular health condition, namely, dementia.

It’s about the fact that so much of the so called care in nursing homes is potentially unlawful!

Hence, I applaud this ad campaign, Say no to the nursing home. It’s not usual for me to promote an aged or dementia care profit, but this ad is worth watching. I cheered the first time I saw it…
