I miss my memory

Most days now, I can’t remember what I’ve thought, what I’ve said, who I’ve said it to, why I’ve said it, what I’ve read, what I’ve written, who I’ve met, where I’ve been, why I’ve been there, what my favourite colour is, how to make an origami swan, or even whether to put my sock on before my shoe.

Does that make me dull and stupid? Hell no, just living with dementia. And I say living with, because I am refusing to lie down and die!!  Would it be easy to get upset about? Yes, but why bother doing that, it definitely won’t change it. Getting upset, or having a C.R.A.P attack as Robyn Moore calls it, whilst sometimes a great and necessary release, is pointless. However, the times I do get upset are easy to get over as I usually forget them!

See, having dementia is manageable, often good fun, and continues to inspire me to work harder, laugh more often, love more deeply, dance occasionally and write on my blog every single day.
