Someone recently suggested I blossomed outward like a flower working hard to bloom in the middle of a drought. I am not sure I have the emotional strength to do that every day, if in fact that is what I am doing. It is a lovely thought though, and those words inspire me to keep trying. The image of a flower blooming, in the middle of a drought is very powerful, and yet is not always how I feel.
My memory loss is random, like somebody has taken an eraser to a big pencil drawing and rubbed out bits haphazardly, bits which you can never put back because now they are gone. The struggle of the blooming, and the damage done by the eraser can seem overwhelming, and the thought of my bloom shriveling and dying, my pencil drawing becoming completely erased, sits heavily. Sleep is my water tonight!

Hope you don’t wet the bed

Kate….I can only imagine what it must be like to loose periodic pieces of ones life! What a frightening thought and yet you handle it with grace. Just know one thing, the words you write are still eloquent and consise, so you are still intact, still blooming in the drought!!! VK
