Alzheimer’s Disease: What if there was a cure?

Doctor says an oil lessened Alzheimer’s effects on her husband

“After two weeks of taking coconut oil, Steve Newport’s results in an early onset Alzheimer’s test gradually improved says his wife, Dr. Mary Newport. Before treatment, Steve could barely remember how to draw a clock. Two weeks after adding coconut oil to his diet, his drawing improved. After 37 days, Steve’s drawing gained even more clarity. The oil seemed to “lift the fog,” his wife says.

The only thing that kept Dr. Mary Newport positive in the face of her husband’s early onset Alzheimer’s disease was that he didn’t seem aware of how much ground he was losing.

He didn’t know the full ramifications of his decline — I hate to say it but that was the only blessing. I was watching my husband of 36 years simply fade away,” said Dr. Newport, 56, a neonatologist and medical director of the newborn intensive care unit at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.” Read more…

I have just purchased the Kindle edition of Dr Newports book, Alzheimer ’s Disease, What if there was a cure? and wonder why no-one has told me about it before. Once I’ve read it, and tried it, I’ll report back on it! An online friend has recently referred me to coconut oil as a healthy substitute for butter, margarine or oil in cooking, but finding out it might improve the symptoms of dementia was a revelation. I know the sceptics will doubt it can even help, but most of them are likely to believe in a God Miracle, even if they are not Christians!!

  1. Wow, this is fabulous, Kate-i will have to try it on my Grandad-hopefully this is the cure-or is it too late, as he is on the “severe” spectrum of dementia now? Hope it works for my Grandad, would be sooo wonderful if his dementia improved, however, my only question is-does it improve the symptons of dementia permanetly or temporary? The dementia is never eradicated, after taking Coconut oil for an extended period of time, right? I will hopefully try and start the trial on him soon, although he is going into respite care tommorow to give my Grandma a break for ten days, so will probably have to start it towards the end of next week. Strangely, his dementia test improved last year, although he had a really really good day, which is very rare, and hasn’t had his test this year yet.

    • I’m unsure of what helps or not; like anything some things work for some people. Anything that supports better health, even if not a cure, helps wellbeing xxx
