A couple of months ago I met up with Dr Diana Collett, a friend and colleague, and someone I first met as an undergraduate student at the University of South Australia when accessing her services. Since we had connected, she has co-founded an initiative on climate change, called The Climate Coaching Alliance. It is an important global initiative, to support people like you and me to take action, as wanting to protect our environment, and knowing what actions outside of our home to do that, is often what holds us back. I joined the coalition, and believe it is a way forward for us all to take action.
The Climate Coaching Alliance
“The Climate Coaching Alliance (CCA) was set up in 2019 and is focused on: transforming our practice; transforming our impact; and transforming the profession.
We participate in a positive shift in human awareness to effect wider systemic changes in the world towards a truly regenerative future – “To give life to the forest of life”. We influence the global professional coaching community to bring the deep and difficult questions of climate and ecological emergency into coaching conversations.“

Many of us want to do better. We want to make changes personally to protect our environment, but also to challenge ‘so called’ leaders who don’t or won’t take action, or who do not have policies in place that work to protect our environment. In Australia, shamefully, the National Party have recently voted unanimously to ditch any policies for the ‘Net Zero emissions by 2050‘ agenda. The Liberal party are yet to decide their position on this, and despite the Labour party having polices and using climate change protections to help win the last election, are still making deals and policies in direct opposition to protecting our environment. It has become untenable to vote for any political party in this country, as even the Greens do deals that are not aligned to their public statements on this topic.
It seems the sceptics have a louder, more powerful voice than the rest of us.
