I realised early on in life if it was to be, it was up to me. I also discovered that between Monday and Friday, you are equal with everyone else; you can really get ahead when everybody else knocks off! When you are young, what puts you ahead is the dedication to keep achieving after hours, and from Friday to Monday. Then, once you are set up in your life, have the cash flow you want to sustain the lifestyle of your choosing, you can slow down and smell the roses, spend more time on leisure and love.
Thought for today…
We will never regret the things we have done, we will only regret the things we have not done.

Too true Kate (on today’s posting generally and your thought for the day more specifically.)
In our conversation the other day at one point you said simply, “You live until you die.”
In that eloquent aphorism you articulated a message that you echo in your blog today.
The challenge as I see it is to know what it is that you will regret having not embraced, since sometimes these opportunities are fleeting and, apparently, imperceptible, at other times they may stare you in the face for months and then it is only years later that you realise the passed over opportunity.
But, to stop and smell the roses will make you more open to seeing the prospects and choosing to embrace them.
I look forward to dropping in on your blog regularly.
I personally will adopt and attempt to live up to one of your daily goals; “to be a better person, someone others can look up to and be proud to know.”
Cheers
Philip

Welcome to my blog Philip… and thank you for joining the parade. My thoughts after reading your eloquent message are those missed opportunities become very clear when faced with a terminal illness. This experience also puts them in perspective, i.e. the ones you might have thought were important – but missed – aren’t imperative after all, and the fleeting ones you’d thought forgotten suddenly appear, sitting there like crystals gleaming in the sun… We can all stand tall and be proud together.
