WordCamp Gold Coast 2011… here I come! I am almost ready to set off for the airport for my flight to Brisbane, and am excited about attending and speaking at the WordCamp conference. I’ve been to the Gold Coast before, but never stayed at the Radisson, never seen the Bond University, never been to a bloggers conference, not met one person who will be there before. I should be feeling apprehensive as the dementia often means I don’t cope well with new situations or crowds, and yet, I feel connected as I know some of the conference organisers through WordPress, twitter and Facebook. That is the joy of this new social networking, bringing together like-minded people from around the world, to share ideas and interests, and to develop friendships and creative partnerships.
