My cats

Yesterday my eldest son and I had to take the cats up to what they would call bootcamp. It is gut wrenching, as they cry all the way. Boris cries every couple of minutes, a loud howling meow that pierces your heart like a sharp long bladed serrated knife. Star, the older slightly more spoilt cat cries constantly, a low sounding gentle sob, twisting the knife slowly, around and around your heart! It has been a very quiet night without them too, as they usually keep me company when I can’t sleep. Star also has a habit brought on by the trauma it causes her, of urinating on me or whatever gets in our way as I struggle to get her into the cat cage. Yesterday, I seemed to avoid this for a pleasant change, but only because I held her away from me as much as possible! They were actually reasonably settled when we got there, perhaps because earlier in the week they had been taken to the vet for their vaccinations and annual thermometer up their you know whats, so perhaps arriving at the cattery was a pleasant surprise!!?? Anyway, I am going to miss them as much as my wonderful sons, but do feel relaxed in knowing they are safe. Star will come back quite a few grams lighter, and they will both be incredibly demanding for love, attention and cuddles. Thankfully, these days they don’t even give us the cold shoulder after a trip to boot camp, and I’m not sure my heart could take that treatment either… they are usually just thrilled to be home.

  1. Wish I could’ve been there to kitty & house sit for you guys. Though at least this way you can guarentee they’ll both be super-excited to see you and Pete when you return, unlike after my kitty spoiling treatment. 😀
Have a safe and happy trip.
    Love to you and Pete

    • Thank you dear Jess. I must say, I’m not sure Pete could cope if you still lived in this state and could look after them!!! He is still smarting over being tossed over for you! haha! We’ll stay in touch through Facebook and the blog, email too probably most days. Love you heaps, and talk when we get back xxxxx

  2. a housesitter may have been another option. my aunt and uncle are retired and housesit all over australia and love it. they have sat in mansions in perth so a dog could stay at home and on fruit blocks in remote queensland.
