We visited an art gallery in Wellington the other day, and had to leave our backpack at the desk. This is usual, but this time, the delightful young woman and I had a minor rant about backpacks, after she mentioned why. It is because most people wearing backpacks give absolutely no consideration  to those behind them, and in an art gallery of course can damage expensive or precious art works. In buses, trams, trains, and aeroplanes, people walk past you with their backpacks often hitting you in the face, the shoulder or any other part of your person that may be in their way. As they turn or move, they almost never bother to check what is in the way of their back-back, and this art gallery assistant and I had a wonderful little rant about it. She said, she loves to rant. I guess if I am honest, I often rant too! And I have a few friends who are also exceptional ranters! My dear husband and I have laughingly talked about me setting up a blog just for people who rant, so we can rant to our hearts content! Haha you might laugh, but what a great idea, and I have one girlfriend who I think should be the lead ranter on the blog (you know who you are!!). I’d also like to rant today about hotels and motels, who wash the cups and glasses in your room in the toilet/bathroom sink. In Australia the HACCP health standards for commercial kitchens says you must have separate sinks just for kitchen staff to wash their hands in the kitchen, but washing items we use to eat or drink from in the toilet sink??? I don’t think so! So when I get home, and have more time, I’m going to do some investigation into this, as think it is an oversight in health regulation audits, at least in Australia. In my spare time of course!! Bring your ranting on, I want to hear it, and maybe I will set up a brand new blog just for US! It’s a short rant today, but one that will inspire me to continue in my quest to understand and bring about positive changes! Smoking and the habit of littering is on the agenda, and I am SURE there are some of you who can already add to this blog on those subjects or many others… bring it on! On the topic of Wellington, we love the people here, so friendly and helpful and interested in making our visit a wonderful one. Thank you.
