Don’t let the negatives define you

Recently I heard a story about a middle aged lecturer near the University of Adelaide…

“She dialed 000 on her mobile phone to report that her car had been broken into. She was hysterical as she explained: They’ve stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator!

The dispatcher said, Stay calm. An officer is on the way.

A few minutes later, the officer radioed in.

Disregard this call, he said. She got in the back-seat by mistake.”

Who knows, this could happen to you, so make sure you find the fun in everything you do, or the negatives will define you!!

  1. We all do funny things at times – I play lawn Bowls and one day as I went to mark a toucher (this is when you mark a bowl that has touched the kitty with either chalk or a white spray)I found that my white spray was only spraying a clear liquid. Thinking that it had run out of the white stuff, I was highly embarrased to discover I was trying to mark the bowl with breath freshner, much to the amusment of my fellow bowlers! it made our day!

  2. I had to laugh at that! It did actually happen to my father in the early 50’s. He was late for the local Shire Council meeeting, was held up by business, fussing for papers he jumped into the car, and there was no steering wheel. He had gotten into the back seat. He resigned from Council that afternoon. Life had to be better than that.
