It certainly applies in Australia too, and is very pertinent as the Australian government is gearing up to ask the elderly to pay for more and more of their care! On the agenda for down the track, or so I have been told, is that anyone with assets above 300k will be expected to pay for not only themselves, but the aged care sector…
A belated thanks Kate for re-blogging this. Mum will be very pleased – and indeed surprised – to hear that it has been posted in Australia. Very apt too as her lovely 90 year old cousin lives in Adelaide 🙂
And why did I miss it at the time?… I was a bit out of touch because I was on holiday… in Australia! 🙂

Thank you Kate. That is a really lovely suggestion – and Mum’s cousin is a very warm person too. I have only met her once (30 years ago!). Not really in close touch but we always receive a handwritten letter at Christmas. Will have achat with Mum about it. You are very kind.
