If so, here is a University of South Australia Research Project looking for participants.
The Impact of Younger Onset Dementia on Employment
Were you working when you were diagnosed with dementia?
Was your partner or close family member working when they were diagnosed with dementia?
If so, you may be interested in participating in a study being conducted by a team from the University of South Australia.
The aims of this study are to:
• Investigate how dementia impacts on employment
• Identify specific workplace difficulties encountered by the employed person with dementia
• Explore the circumstances around why people with dementia have to stop working
• Document strategies that might support the person to remain in the workforce for as long as possible.
The information generated from this study will contribute to an improved understanding of the impact of dementia on employment and help the development of supportive workplace strategies for people with dementia.
The research team are seeking participants from all over Australia across all employment backgrounds – from casual or part time employees through to self-employed business owners.
If you agree to be involved in this study, you will be invited to participate in a 60 minute phone interview at a time that is convenient for you.
