“The man who planted trees”

It has been a long and exhausting week, with a lot of travel, hard work, and to add to that some intense sadness due to the death of the son of some very close friends… This video and book, always reminds me to just keep going, and never give up. Life, death, love, meanness, and everything in between will always still be going on, but we can and must continue with our own journey and work…

The Man Who Planted Trees (French title L’homme qui plantait des arbres), also known as The Story of Elzéard Bouffier, The Most Extraordinary Character I Ever Met, and The Man Who Planted Hope and Reaped Happiness, is an allegorical tale by French author Jean Giono, published in 1953. It was adapted to this animated short by Frédéric Back and released in 1987. It earned a number of awards including an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
