No longer at war

Life is most certainly an interesting ride and always one where perspective is helpful, which I have gained much more than I bargined for lately! For the last almost 14 years, I’ve increasingly felt like I’ve been at war. In contrast to what’s happening in the Ukraine, clearly I’m not.

But I witnessed something today that only a few years ago would have broken my heart, and owuld have made me feel like I’d lost a war.

Instead, today, I feel at peace.

The ‘war’ I was in for equal inclusion of all people of ANY AGE with dementia who are ALL people with acquired disabilities, is just on hold for a while.

That’s not because we are being included equally. Despairingly, I do not believe that will happen in my or your lifetime, or even your if you’re only 12 months old!

I’m definitely not done yet either.

I will however, be finding different ways to campaign for what is right.

In time, I’ll elaborate further, but for now, all I really want to say is this.

Thank you for listening (reading!).
